Penumbra is a salvaged wood mosaic with wood tiles glued to a plywood backing board and finished with polyurethane and mineral spirits. 
 
Penumbra explores the grey areas between light and dark. It points toward uncertainty, and the discomfort that arises when things refuse to fit neatly into black and white categories. It speaks to our desire to label, define, and conclude. The frustration, or even growth, that can happen when that impulse fails.
