Salvaged Wood Mosaic glued to 15/32" birch plywood backing board. Some of the patterns on this piece include colored lines, which where created by gluing split pieces of wood together with wood glue mixed with sawdust and acrylic paint.
Center eyes from an angry book-matched knot anchor a spread of fearful faces and fake happy masks. Multi-wood chevrons, six wavy cedar sections, and dark walnut patterns represent the strategic puzzles we build into our outer image to survive a society that demands a cheerful persona.
